SHL Systemhouse Slashes Program Implementation Expenses by 40 Percent
The Canadian Department of National Defense (DND) undertook a $150 million program to modernize the Canadian forces and to upgrade the system that stocks, deploys and monitors its world-wide materials supply. As the program manager, Robbins-Gioia developed schedules, implementation plans, and financial management methodologies. Robbins-Gioia also assisted in designing and developing a system to track the material procurement process from order initiation to site installation through invoicing.
RESULT: The DND’s program operating costs were cut by 40 percent by implementing a material tracking system described by one auditor as a “most sophisticated management system solution.” .
