Robbins-Gioia Appoints Herb Strauss as Chief Marketing Officer

January 22, 2008, Alexandria, VA—Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of program and performance management services, announced today the appointment of Herb Strauss to the position of Chief Marketing Officer. As the company’s first CMO, Strauss will oversee the strategic direction and execution of Robbins-Gioia’s global marketing initiatives, including brand management, product and solutions marketing, corporate communications, market research, analyst relations, and field-based demand generation programs. Reporting to Mike Sledge, Robbins-Gioia’s President and Chief Operating Officer, he will be based at the firm’s corporate headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

Strauss joins Robbins-Gioia from the technology research and advisory firm Gartner Inc. There, as research vice president and principal national security analyst, he focused on issues, policies, trends, and technologies affecting the regional and increasingly global government industry, national security market segments, and the companies that provide related program management and technology consulting and systems integration services. Prior to Gartner, he held executive positions in market and industry analysis, strategy development, and management and technology consulting and led service delivery of key programs and services with the American Express Company, Electronic Data Systems Corporation, and American Management Systems (now a component of CGI). Strauss began his professional career in government, where he served for 20 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps.

“This is an exciting time to guide Robbins-Gioia’s market initiatives,” Strauss said. “Across industries and geographies, commercial and government clients are rightly demanding better performance from their project and program investments and deeper insights into the discrete elements of operational performance. With almost 30 years of industry experience, Robbins-Gioia pioneered project and program management and the alignment of people, processes, and tools and technologies enabling organizations to deliver successful outcomes and meet high expectations. I believe that Robbins-Gioia is uniquely positioned to bring mission critical program and performance management services that meet this growing demand and that are truly worthy of the Robbins-Gioia brand. Moreover, as part of the Informa Plc (FTSE: INF) North American portfolio of companies, we have an exceptional opportunity to engage added depth of expertise from Informa’s worldwide research and publishing resources, leverage a broad range of service synergies in performance management and improvement, and show our brand in more places, more often, by participating in Informa-sponsored business events worldwide.”

“We are extremely excited to have Herb join our executive team. His professional accomplishments, business and marketing acumen, and deep understanding of our business, industries, and markets will be a tremendous asset to the firm,” said John Marselle, CEO of Robbins-Gioia. “Plus, his ability to assess emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities, develop new and revitalized capabilities and campaigns, and leverage meaningful and effective partnerships will be invaluable to a forward-thinking company like Robbins-Gioia.”
