Robbins-Gioia Appoints Rob Bongiovi Head of Air Force Operations

March 5, 2003, Alexandria, VA - Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of project management services, announced today the appointment of Maj. Gen. Robert Bongiovi (USAF, Ret.) as Robbins-Gioia's senior vice president and general manager of Air Force operations. With more than 30 years of distinguished service in the Air Force, Bongiovi brings a wealth of acquisition and DOD knowledge and experience to this position.

"I am pleased to join the Robbins-Gioia team," said Bongiovi. "And I look forward to building a strong business partnership between Robbins-Gioia and the entire Air Force."

Bongiovi earned an M.S. in aerospace engineering from MIT. He completed the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and key acquisition assignments on the Air Staff and Joint Staff. He served on the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition Task Force where he wrote new acquisition policy and procedures and as Vice Commander of the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Bongiovi recently retired as deputy director, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va. This agency safeguards America and its allies by reducing present threats and preparing for future threats from weapons of mass destruction.
