Robbins-Gioia Announces Appointment of Maj. Gen. Rob Bongiovi
April 18, 2005, Alexandria, VA-Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of program
management services, today announced the appointment of Maj. Gen. Rob Bongiovi (USAF, Ret.) as
president of its defense division. Bongiovi previously served as senior vice president and general
manager of Air Force operations for Robbins-Gioia.
In his new role, Bongiovi will oversee business development, solution delivery, and operations for
Robbins-Gioia’s defense division, which supports all services-related work for the company. Bongiovi,
who served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 32 years before retiring in 2002 as a major general,
brings invaluable insights and experience to this appointment.
During his Air Force career, Bongiovi held a number of leadership positions including serving on the
Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition Task Force where he wrote new acquisition policy and
procedures; vice commander of the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,
Ohio; and deputy director, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va.
“Rob’s experience in the Air Force, as well as his wealth of knowledge surrounding DOD operations
and acquisition practices, make him an ideal candidate for this position,” said Jim Leto, president

Bongiovi holds a master of sciences degree in aerospace engineering from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology. Additionally, he completed studies at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, as
well as key acquisition assignments on the Air Staff and Joint Staff.
