Robbins-Gioia Appoints Jim Leto Chief Executive Officer December 4, 2002, Alexandria, Virginia—Robbins-Gioia Inc., the leading provider of project management consulting services, today announces the appointment of Jim Leto as Chief Executive Officer. A results-oriented leader, Leto brings an impeccable track record to the top post at Robbins-Gioia, consistently managing organizations for accelerated growth and profitability. Following 22 years of service, John Gioia, founder of Robbins-Gioia, will remain involved, continuing to serve as Chairman of the Board. Avon James, who has served as president for three years, will continue to lead in this capacity. Jim Leto was chosen for formerly serving as Chairman and CEO of PRC, a $900 million science and technology firm. During his tenure, PRC achieved annual operating income growth of 40 percent. Additionally, Leto served in a series of increasingly responsible positions at AT&T over the course of 23 years. These roles included serving as vice president and general manager of a newly formed, $60 million Federal division of AT&T. Leto planned and implemented a strategy to become the pre-eminent systems integrator in the Federal market. Within three years, the organization won and managed the three largest systems integration contracts in government procurement history, and achieved sales growth from $60 to $500 million. Leto's experience includes first-hand knowledge of the intricacies of large scale, complex program management. When the Justice Department mandated the break up of the Bell System, Leto led the team that architected and successfully implemented the plan to define the steps, applications, and hardware systems required to disaggregate more than 100 data centers, 22 discrete billing systems, 205 million bill records, and 79 payroll systems for one million AT&T employees.
